I have been spending a little time browsing around on here this morning. I found something quite lovely, here http://viennarichards.org/2012/04/30/the-pure-beauty-of-this-planet/

Kind of puts the visible skies here in the UK to shame, at least where I live. The light pollution is so bad that even on my beloved South Downs at night it is hard to get a good view of the sky.

  1. We’re lucky where we are in Spain as there is barely any industry around at all (I can’t think of any off the top of my head) so we have low pollution of any type and get some pretty decent skies too. I’m not claiming its Yosemite though!

    • We were in Seville a year or so back, stayed out of the city and even there the skies were clearer and brighter.

There are bits of the UK where you can get decent night skies though

  2. Vicky says:

I’ve seen some good skies in parts of the UK, but here we have too much light pollution đŸ˜¦
The best I’ve ever seen was in the Flinders in Australia.
