Makes you think

I have just seen this clip on you tube, if you live cosily believeing that humans are basically good, think again. We all, in one way or another worship greed, this is just an extreme version.

Thanks Bill for trying to help us all keep our humanity.

  1. Interesting – but I never actually thought humans were good! I am constantly disappointed by the dreadful things that they will do to each other – kill, steal, disrespect etc. etc.

  2. I figured it was a skit until I looked up fat mobilisation hormone (it didn’t sound technical enough – it was too understandable and clothed in an adipose tissue of words) so I was surprised to see it does exist. Regardless of that, it was an interesting way to look at sucking the life out of people.

I did gripe about the sexism in it though. Are there no fat men? Huh? I see another commenter picked up on the misogynistic aspect of it too.

    • I can’t be responsible for what Bill said, but the message is clear enough, I am sure there are fat men out there who would pay for the treatment.

One of the collectors was a woman though, also depiction of fat male medical person …

      • Ah, the woman was the stereotypical nice clinical slim blonde (I think) persona. Plus ca change.

Oh, nor was I holding you responsible. Just pointing it out for everyone’s benefit if they hadn’t spotted it πŸ™‚

      • I know. You should know though, Bill is my number 1 hero of all time bar none. πŸ˜‰

      • Perhaps you could find yourself a feminist hero πŸ™‚ I’m sure there will be one somewhere.

      • I could nominate, er … er, … I don’t really care, boy or girl, no one has a monopoly on good ideas. When I first saw Bill on the box 30 years ago, he was the first one providing solutions not pointing out problems. It could have been Maddy Harland, it could have been Liza Minnelli, but Bill was the one. Sorry. :p

    That’s pretty sick.
